Pyridoxine hydrochloride (vitamin B6)
Cyanocobalamin (vitamin B12)
The rest of the components will vary from brand to brand but usually include opovidone, sodium carboxymethyl starch (potato), hypromellose, titanium dioxide, sodium stearyl fumarate, modified corn starch, citric acid, trisodium citrate, silicon dioxide, natural wax, glycerol, medium chain triglycerides and carm acid.
Any vitamin complex of this type is indicated both to prevent and to treat deficiencies of the aforementioned. The lack of these nutrients together is manifested in back pain, loss of appetite or continuous headaches. If you have a lack of any of them, the symptoms will be very varied. The complex is suitable for adults and adolescents over 14 years of age. Of course, the intake also differs with each type of complex, although it is usual to take one tablet a day orally. In the vast majority of cases, treatment should not exceed two weeks; however, the physician may assess that the duration of treatment is longer depending on the needs of each patient.
Warnings and precautions regarding the use of combined B1, B6 and B12
There are certain population groups for which taking this drug is not appropriate:
People allergic to vitamins B1, B6 and B12 or cobalt
Levodopa supplementation for Parkinson’s patients also is not available
Or those with Leber’s disease or tobacco amblyopia
Taking this complex is also not recommended for patients with kidney or liver disease
Not for pregnant women and children under 14 years of age
There are a number of precautions to consider:
On the one hand, it is essential to adhere to the period of treatment indicated by the doctor; prolonged intake can lead to episodes of dependence.
On the other hand, if a given patient suffers from a blood disease, such as anaemia, it is important to perform a series of tests before taking any such complex.
